We used to order tankers all through summer till 2012. We realized we can’t sustain like this and need to stop calling tankers. That’s when we decided to implement Rainwater Harvesting. Ira’ RWH yielded results right after the first monsoon and we didn’t call a single tanker starting 2013.

Our residential society was using water from three sources - corporation, borewell and a tanker once in a while. But we noticed that the groundwater was depleting and bore was running only for 10 mins in peak summer. We couldn’t risk our vital water source. So we immediately called Ira (referral from our neighbor society). Ira retrofitted existing wells with rainwater filters. This summer the bore is running longer than 3 hours.

As developers of residential properties we believe in creating value to the homeowners. And we know that there is no greater value than handing over a water-rich property. We build Green homes and Ira makes our properties sustainable on water front.

No corporation water connection, dry borewell and non-reliable tanker water supply can bring anyone down. But not us, we called Ira to assess our situation and they solved the problem within 1 week by installing the Rainwater Harvesting system. Borewell yielded water right after the first monsoon.

I was neither calling a tanker nor was in short of water supply. But I believe in social good and wanted to reduce my water footprint. I decided to find out more about Rainwater Harvesting. I easily found a reliable service provider like Ira. Ira gave me a Rainwater Harvesting Certificate and guided me to claim corporation tax rebate. I get 5% subsidy on property tax from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

I was not sure if my rainwater harvesting system was working, I asked Ira to assess the system. They leveraged the existing system and retrofitted borewell with filters. Now I’m relieved that the rainwater is recharging in the ground like how it should.

Being a hospital, water is a critical component for smooth functioning of the hospital – everyday we have population of approx. 1000 people (500 floating + 500 staff and patients). We had 25-year-old borewell which had gone defunct and tanker dependency was increasing and water cost was accumulating. That was a wake up call for us to take up Rainwater Harvesting.

Showing a practical application goes a long way than teaching theory in a classroom. Water conservation in our school is such an example. We invited Ira for awareness seminar – a theory class in classroom. It inspired our students and their parents so much that the parents decided to fund the rainwater harvesting project in our campus. The water conservation method and system are both sustainable for all the generations to learn from it.
